Online Learning Resources

Navigating Education from Home

During these unprecedented times, families may be evaluating how to continue their children's education while keeping them safe and healthy. Families play a critical role in being their child’s first teacher. Lehigh Valley Children's Centers is here to help.

LVCC educators have compiled online resources to keep children learning while early education programs and schools are closed.

LVCC has been using the Waterford Early Learning online program in 12 preschool/Pre-K classrooms since September. With our centers closed due to the coronavirus, Waterford has donated additional licenses, allowing more of our families the chance to use this fun and engaging learning software at home!

Waterford Early Learning is a non-profit research institute that partners with states, school districts, and non-profit organizations to help preschool-aged children read at grade level by kindergarten.

By using Waterford's early learning software at home for 15 minutes per day, preschoolers build strong literacy and math skills and prepare to succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

To access Waterford Early Learning, click the link below. After completing the brief questionnaire, a login code and website link will be emailed to you within 24 hours.

All the resources listed below are free (with the exception of ABC Mouse that is free for a limited time). Some do require that parents/caregivers make login accounts to access the content. We want to particularly highlight How to Talk to Your Kids About Coronavirus by PBS. It has embedded links to characters such as Daniel Tiger, Curious George, and Elmo teaching kids about various aspects of staying healthy such as: hand washing, why it’s important to rest, and more.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to supporting your children’s learning and development.
