Reports to: Director of State Programs
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Critical duties are to visit classrooms and coach teachers using reflective practice to improve instruction and ensure positive performance growth by each child; foster and facilitate inclusion of Pre-K Counts into each Center; maintain excellence of program delivery, and provide or arrange on-going technical assistance and training for Pre-K Counts teaching staff based on identified areas for growth. Travel in Lehigh or Northampton County required.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:
- Coach and provide feedback to teachers to improve teaching practices through the reflective cycle.
- Observe and support curriculum implementation and effective instruction.
- Administer structured on-going program assessments using ECERS-R, ECERS-3, or CLASS.
- Confer regularly with the Director of State Programs, Educational Coordinators, Director of Program Supports, ITCS Director and Center Directors to coordinate effort to maximize effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with timely submission of reports and data as required annually.
- Ensure classrooms are fully enrolled throughout the year.
- Respond to parents/family members/guardians, and others in a timely manner.
- Ensure files are complete and maintained per regulations.
- Enter data and ensure teachers do same for all items required by OCDEL.
- Address and resolve parent/family/child issues.
- Monitor attendance records and speak to parents as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Master's Degree in Education preferred.
- Preferred Pennsylvania Level II Certification in Early Childhood Education PK-3.
- 3-5 years of progressive management experience.
- Knowledge of word processing software, presentations, spreadsheets, and databases.
- 2500 hours documented experience working with young children.
- Able to bend, sit and stand for long period of times.
- Maintains appropriate physical & TB testing requirements.
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Able to stand for long period of time and bend down.
