More than 1,500 children receive early childhood education and child care services each day at LVCC. We’re the largest full day, year-round, early education and child care provider in the region, with 30 convenient locations in Lehigh and Northampton Counties. Each of our centers either participates in Pennsylvania's Keystone STARS or are working toward STARS, continuously building a higher standard of measure for our programs.
This position is responsible for providing high quality developmentally appropriate care and education for children ages 3-5 in Pre-K Counts classrooms. Works as part of a multi-site center team to provide education, health and social service support to children and families as needed and requested. Follow regulatory standards of the Department of Human Services, and Keystone STARS.
Provide a safe, supportive environment for learning to occur and develop trust-based partnership relationships with parents & children.
Implement high quality teacher child interactions in multiple environments and sites.
Implement structured and unstructured learning experiences in varied group and individual settings, and maintain record keeping input daily documentation for children and site in the absences of staff.
As a floater (substitute) you will maintain the daily schedule of classroom routine and activity plans for structured and unstructured learning experiences in varied group and individual settings, including recording written observations of children while intentionally teaching, guiding and modeling for children throughout the day.
Encourages and facilitates communication and cooperation between families and the centers.
Perform other duties as requested by immediate supervisor necessary to carry out the administrative/programmatic activities necessary to fulfill the goals and objectives Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers
Six (6) credit hours in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or CDA Credential, or Specialized Educational Certificate
1 to 2 years of experience with children
Knowledge of DHS Regulations
