The Program Coordinator will assess, observe child care centers, and have oversight responsibility ensuring health and safety is apparent and the delivery of high-quality programs is present. The position is 40 hours/week & exempt. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the oversight and management of the activities, programs, and services implemented to meet the needs of children and families in child care centers and the partner school/district. He/she is a leader and coach directing the center in the delivery of stimulating and enriching lessons and activities that build upon and reinforce skills learned through creatively designed programs.
Review and monitor child care center compliance with regulations, policies and procedures, STARS, NAEYC, ERS and DHS.
Routinely monitor center systems and processes and mentor as necessary.
Facilitate plan for necessary improvements and ensure compliance throughout child care center.
Ensure child care centers understand how to move staff and children during difficult periods to maintain ratio compliance.
Ensure that child to staff ratio are maintained as per regulation, at all times.
Attends workshops, trainings, and conferences for professional development.
Other duties as assigned.
Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (minimum)
Three (3) years of experience in management or leadership role supervising others
Multi child care center experience preferred
Knowledge of OCDEL, Pre-K Counts and DHS rules and regulations
Knowledge and experience with STARS system
Intermediate to advanced computer skills
Be able to travel 90% is a job requirement
