LVCC - Blog - Staff Spotlight: Dimitra Anastasopoulous

Dimitra Anastasopoulos has been promoted to center director of the William Allen High School and Walnut Street, Allentown locations of Lehigh Valley Children's Centers (LVCC). She has over 15 years of experience working in early childhood education.

She began her career teaching with LVCC seven years ago at the Judith Chase Early Learning Center in Allentown with the introduction of Keystone Babies, a Pennsylvania state-funded infant program. When Keystone Babies ended in 2011, she transferred to LVCC on Union Boulevard, Allentown where she most recently led a toddler classroom.

Working with children has always been a goal of Dimitra’s, even as a child. “I would pretend to be a teacher with my dolls,” she explained. “Being around children makes me happy.”

As Dimitra takes on her new role of center director, she hopes to make a difference in more lives. She understands that a successfully run center is a team effort. She credits her staff at both centers for working well together to support the needs of the children.

“I am truly lucky to have staff that appreciate everything and work as a team,” she said.

Dimitra has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with an associate’s degree in early childhood education from Cedar Crest College. She is currently working toward the Pennsylvania Director Credential Certificate.
