Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers (LVCC) is happy to accept Pennsylvania Child Care Works (Title XX or Title 20) subsidies. You can find out more about how to apply for a subsidy by visiting our Child Care Works page. NOTE: You must contact the Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) office in your county to apply for a subsidy.
To apply for an LVCC Scholarship, you should speak with your center director or the center director of the location in which you wish to enroll your child. Once you fill out the paperwork, your application will be sent to the Scholarship Committee. You will receive notification of the committee’s decision within a week. Please note that even if the application is approved, you may be placed on a waiting list. Visit our Child Care Works page for more information and eligibility requirements.
LVCC centers are licensed by the Department of Human Services. We follow their recommended student/teacher ratios which take into account a child’s level of independence:
Infant Classroom = 4 : 1
Young Toddler Classroom = 5 : 1
Older Toddler Classroom = 6 : 1
Preschool Classroom = 10 : 1
School-Age Classroom = 12 : 1
LVCC programs offer flexible scheduling to meet the needs of working parents. We have full-time, part-time, daily and hourly drop-in rates. For availability and pricing information, please call the center director at the location in which you wish to enroll.
The LVCC teaching staff is highly qualified. All head teachers must have either a Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field. Assistant teachers possess at least nine credit hours in ECE or a related field.
All Pre-K Counts head teachers possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and a PA State Teaching Certification and assistant teachers hold an Associate’s Degree in ECE or a related field.
In addition, all teachers are required to have at least 2,500 hours of experience working with children before beginning their employment with LVCC.
All LVCC staff members must complete PA Criminal, FBI, Sex Offender, and Child Abuse background checks before beginning employment.
LVCC provides a well-balanced, nutritional breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack daily. Children are encouraged to try a wide variety of foods, including whole-grain breads, vegetables and fruits. Monthly menus are posted in each classroom and are available on our website.
You are responsible for transporting your child to and from your home to your child’s center.
