The Creative Curriculum for Preschool® guides our teachers as they tailor classroom activities to meet the developmental needs, abilities and unique interests of each child. This play-based curriculum is developmentally appropriate and enhances the children’s growth through interest areas.   The Creative Curriculum features exploration and discovery as a way of learning.  Allowing for child-initiated free play and guided instruction, the materials in each center change over time in response to children’s interests and the theme of the lesson plan. 

To facilitate and support meaningful play experiences, the curriculum is aligned with local school district curricula and The Pennsylvania Learning Standards for Early Childhood are included in each activity on the classroom lesson plans.

For children who will soon start kindergarten, LVCC collaborates with local school districts in planning special activities to help make the transition to elementary school a positive experience.
